Ravi Srivastava: Helping Businesses Raise Funds for Their Projects by Offering and Selling Blockchain Tokens on the Internet

Akemona helps businesses raise funds for their projects by offering and selling blockchain tokens on the Internet. Akemona is ICO 2.0. Yes, we can do legal ICOs (Initial Coin Offerings) because we are registered with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and member of Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Our mission is to help businesses grow. At the same time, we are selective. We are selective because we have to protect the interests of investors too.

Offering and selling blockchain tokens to raise money can be done in an entirely legal manner in the United States. Akemona makes that possible under SEC Regulation Crowdfunding.

Tell us about yourself?

My background is in technology. I have worked in banks and finance industry. Watching the blockchain revolution unfold is exciting. It is great to be part of this revolution.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

In a startup nothing will happen as expected. Be ready to turn on a dime. Focus on how you are delivering value to your customers.

What problem does your business solve?

More and more businesses are asset-light or asset-less. They can’t get term loans from banks because banks need collateral. We help such businesses raise funds by offering and selling blockchain tokens on the Internet to investors worldwide.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

The most successful crowdfunding effort so far has been “The DAO” (Đ) launched on April 30, 2016. Within 21 days, “The DAO” raised $150 million in ETH from 11,000 investors.

This amount is equivalent to $53 billion at current prices of ETH in mid-January 2022. The DAO (Đ) was deemed an offering of unregistered securities by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and was eventually shutdown.

However, the short-lived success of “The DAO” indicated the enormous potential in the combination of Web 3.0 and crowdfunding. That’s what Akemona does. We bring together Web 3.0 and crowdfunding. We are taking forward the vision of “The DAO.”

What is your magic sauce?

Our magic sauce are smart contracts – end to end. We are the only funding portal in the United States, which is based on smart contracts. We do everything on our portal using smart contracts.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

Our plan for the next 5 years is focused on strengthening the business of Akemona by focusing on delivery of value to customers. We intend to continuously innovate by intensely focusing on our customers and employees. We deliver value through our employees. We recognize how we achieve success is as important as achieving success.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Seeking regulatory approval from the SEC for an innovative approach to fund-raising using blockchain and smart contracts.
