Lilith Lenihan: NFT Social Media Marketplace for People Seeking to Monetise Their Digital Content Without the Complexity

1 min read

Minted is an NFT social media marketplace for people seeking to monetise their digital content without the complexity.

We believe users are dissatisfied with purchasing and minting complexities, hidden fees, and limited utility after NFT purchase. Minted seeks to create an NFT social media platform that is financially accessible, intuitive to use , and enables greater community engagement.

Tell us about yourself?

My name is Lilith, I’m 24, and I’m the co-founder and CEO of Minted. I’ve tried modelling, practice management, teaching, publishing, sales, and even bartending for a while. But entrepreneurship is certainly my preferred dish. I’d known about cryptocurrency for some time, but NFTs only reached my vocabulary during my MSc in International Business back in early 2021, but it’s now become my entire life.

I decided to pursue a masters to occupy myself over the pandemic. For my dissertation, I compared characteristics between NFT platforms and identified those that helped them dominate in the NFT space.

Once finished, I still had so many questions about what drives the similar infrastructural choices of the platforms, and if there were better choices for users, would they migrate? This is largely where the Minted vision began for me.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Invest, invest, invest in crypto. And when you’re done investing, invest more.

What problem does your business solve?

Complex processes, high fees, and a lack of utility for NFTs after purchase.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

My pursuit of the perfect platform in my masters definitely sowed the seeds for Minted. The industry was facing several problems: high fees, high-energy consumption, complex UI… but discovering Tezos allowed me to imagine actionable solutions. Tezos is robust, secure, it’s better for the environment, and they ensure that our fees will only be a few cents. Minted wouldn’t exist without Tezos- it’s fundamental to making NFTs more accessible in the long-term.

What is your magic sauce?

We are among the pioneers of combining NFTs and Social Media to allow users to build and market a portfolio that’s defined by its context.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

Besides scaling Minted to the masses, we’d love to develop a framework for easily tokenising real-world assets with NFTs.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

NFTs sometimes get a bad rap because not everyone wants to do what’s best for the community. The biggest challenge is creating a space where people feel safe from plagiarism and exploitation, but it is possible.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

We’re currently seeking out partnerships with creators to ensure that our platform has a variety of incredible NFTs for our users to purchase at launch. Please email us at [email protected] to see if our partnership programmes could benefit your project.
