Tell us about yourself?
Educational background in accounting, finance and law and a PhD in business law. I have always had an interest in the creation of shareholder value and doing business in highly regulated markets. Working as a director in ASX listed companies is the natural interest of these two professional interests.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
I think the advice would be to stay committed to the initial instincts and try, as hard as it is sometimes, to not be distracted by the noise and other market externalities.
What problem does your business solve?
We work in the field of 3D printing where we take an intangible digital file and turn it into a real world tangible object. With the emergence of the Metaverse we are looking at how to bring artefacts and experiences from the emerging digital worlds and manifest them into the real world where each discreet object has physical properties such as weight, texture, malleability and other tactile properties.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
We are inspired by the emergence of digital environments from the early days of newgroups to the internet and now the Metaverse. We see these digital worlds have greater overlap and connection with our physicals world.
Increasingly we are seamlessly crossing from real world to digital environments every day whether it be to look at a digital map to get navigation directors, interact with a bank over the internet to deal in a financial transaction or immerse into a digital meme as a way of making sense of trending news, culture, fashion or celebrity.
We believe these connections between these two worlds is only growing more stronger and more relevant and are interested in the the opportunities that exist in their intersection.
What is your magic sauce?
We are the only business listed on the ASX that is bridging the gap between digital and real world. Our secret sauce is our growing body of intellectual capital including our human capital
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
We believe we can create a $1 billion (unicorn) company and are working on laying the ground work to scale to achieve that with our ASX listing (ASX.T3D)
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
The myriad opportunities that we are presented with creates challenges in how to pursue so many highly prospective opportunities.
How do people get involved/buy into your vision?
We are looking to engage with individuals and organisations that have visions for engaging digital experiences and want to bring them into the real world and vice versa.
