Daniel Johnson: Growth Marketing Agency Focusing on Helping Startups To Create ‘Growth Machines’ To Generate Predictable, Repeatable and Scalable Growth

WSS is a growth marketing agency focusing on helping startups to create ‘growth machines’ to generate predictable, repeatable and scalable growth. We use our lean methodology and data-driven approach to transform startups into robust, valuable and sustainable companies.

Tell us about yourself?

I accidentally fell into this line of work after starting many startups, one of which I sold to a Private Equity firm. After that, I worked in increasingly larger startups as head of Growth & CMO. After that, I became a consultant, where I could identify the patterns evident in successful startups. This leads me to run my agency, We Scale Startups, which helps startups achieve those patterns.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Focus on the 20% of work that results in 80% of the impact.

What problem does your business solve?

Creating a startup is increasingly easy, but getting it in the hands of the right people at the right time is very difficult. We help startups that are looking to 10X rapidly.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

The answer is very boring, just data-driven and customer-focused growth focusing on the fundamentals.

What is your magic sauce?

This is an excellent question, one that changes all the time. I think what we originally were going to do and what we find ourselves doing now is very different things. I think one thing we want to explore is our venture studio to apply our unique skills to developing our products.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

This is an excellent question, one that changes all the time. I think what we originally were going to do and what we find ourselves doing now is very different things. I think one thing we want to explore is our venture studio to apply our unique skills to developing our products.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

The biggest challenge for us has always been the focus. We want to take so many opportunities, but we always have limited resources. So we always ask ourselves whenever we make a decision if this aligns with our core mission.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

I want to work with ambitious early stage app, saas, ecommerce and crypto startups who are looking to scale! Visit wescalestartups.com
